Summerlin’s open spaces offer unrivaled opportunity for those wanting to live an active lifestyle. Whether hiking, biking, running, or nature walking, Summerlin is a destination worth exploring.

Dedicating more acreage than any other community in southern Nevada, Summerlin residents have access to nearly 250 neighborhood and village parks offering athletics, aquatic centers, pools, and other recreational options.

Summerlin further boasts over 150 miles of trails sculpted into the terrain of the master-planned community.  This award-winning trail system connects residents to its inimitable amenities and activities including 29 major community parks, making it worth an early start to the day as temperatures rise into the triple digits. These parks range in size from five to 20 acres and offer recreational options for all ages including 16 tennis courts,  14 baseball fields, 11 basketball courts, seven soccer fields, swimming pools, playgrounds, three sand volleyball courts, football fields, and an outdoor roller-skating rink.

Just outside Summerlin, remarkable adventure awaits in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The Canyon’s stunning red-hued landscape offers spectacular rock climbing, camping, hiking, or cycling experiences.

The world-class golf courses in and around Summerlin are counted among the best in the state and include Best of Las Vegas winner Highland Falls or The Tournament Players Club (TPC) Summerlin where Tiger Woods earned his first PGA win.  Bear’s Best Golf course, only minutes away from Downtown Summerlin gives golfers the opportunity to experience Jack Nicklaus’ favorite 18 holes from around the world during one round of golf.

For those with a competitive edge, Summerlin hosts several events throughout the year.  This year the Summerlin Wellness Festival, tentatively scheduled for November 7, offers cyclists and runners the opportunity to challenge themselves in the Tour de Summerlin or Summerlin Half Marathon.  The Festival also offers complimentary fitness classes, children’s activities and other entertainment.

Tour de Summerlin, Southern Nevada’s longest-running bicycle event, offers three ride distances: 80, 40, and 20 miles.  Each bike route offers riders incredible scenery and distinct riding experiences.  The start and finish lines are located in Downtown Summerlin.

Runners get to stretch their legs during the 13.1-mile Summerlin’s Half Marathon. Runners lineup at the start line in Downtown Summerlin and travel through the extraordinary community of Summerlin.

Developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, Summerlin is an affluent master-planned community located 30 minutes west of the Las Vegas Strip, at the edge of the Spring Mountains. It ranked in the country’s top 10 best-selling master-planned communities for two decades.
