It's easy to connect Las Vegas with nightclubs, luxury hotels, and fine cuisine. While that is what we are famous for, there is so much more to see and do in this lovely city. As the weather begins to cool down, now is the ideal time to go for a hike on one of the city's numerous trails. Read on to locate the ideal hike for you, regardless of your skill level. Just remember to take the necessary precautions, such as bringing plenty of water and staying on the trails.

1. Ice Box Trail (Moderate)

Ice Box Canyon Trail is a moderately-trafficked 2.3-mile out-and-back trail located close to Las Vegas, Nevada. It features a waterfall. The trail is best used from September to May and is generally used for hiking, nature visits, and bird watching. The two-hour hike is worth the workout to see the seasonal waterfalls from December to April. This trail is also open to dogs, although they must be kept on a leash.

2. Fire Wave Trail (Easy)

Fire Wave Trail is a 1.5-mile out-and-back trail with a cave near Overton, Nevada that is suitable for hikers of all skill levels. The trail is open all year and is generally used for hiking, walking, and wildlife expeditions. This trail is also open to dogs, although they must be kept on a leash.

3. Calico Trail (Moderate/Hard)

The Calico Tank Trail in Red Rock Canyon is a lovely hike. It is 2.2 miles long, takes around two hours to complete, and is somewhat difficult. It is notable for its massive sandstone formations. It's the ideal trail for those who want to try hiking in the otherwise challenging canyon.

4. Gold Strike Hot Springs Trail (Difficult)

The Gold Strike Hot Springs Trail is a 6 mile out and back trail with hot springs located near Boulder City, Nevada. It is categorized as difficult. Hiking and wildlife visits are the most popular activities on the trail. Although the trip is long, it is well worth it to cool yourself in the crystal clear water. Because the water is hot, the best time to visit is from October to May, when the weather begins to cool down.

5. Echo Overlook Trail (Difficult)

The Echo Overlook Hike is a 4.6-mile out-and-back trail near Mount Charleston, Nevada, that features lovely wildflowers and is classified as difficult. Although the steep switchbacks and elevation increase make this a tough climb, it is a gorgeous path from the start. The autumn colors are breathtaking. The trail is best used from March to November for hiking, nature trips, bird watching, and horseback riding. This trail is also suitable for dogs and horses.

No matter your skill level, hiking is a great way to enjoy the cool weather and take in the nature that surrounds us. This fall, explore one of these beautiful trails with your family and make it a point to get outside and enjoy the fall leaves and crisp air.
